The Aber Falls Single Malt Welsh Whisky has been years in the making, from the first whisky distillery in North Wales in over 100 years. This rich and full-bodied whisky, crafted meticulously to achieve distinct flavour profiles, is the latest in Aber Falls’ portfolio of award-winning spirits.
Aber Falls Whisky is unique in both its production and its taste. Working with local farmers, they use 100% Welsh malted barley and fresh Welsh water. Therefore, their recipes have been meticulously built to highlight the quality of these spectacular ingredients. They bottle on site at the Distillery and the Warehouse is located just down the road.
Their stills are also specially designed to produce refined, premium quality whisky. The copper removes any unwanted elements, with the large surface area of tall stills ensuring maximum contact with the liquid.
Distillers used Aber Falls’ first mature casks for the inaugural release of this Aber Falls Single Malt Welsh Whisky. A mix of American Virgin Oak, Sherry and Orange wine casks made a unique release, setting the course for the distillery’s future.
This amber gold whisky has an aroma of vanilla and toffee, candied citrus fruits, and fig and sultana, all balanced with a gentle hint of clove.
On the palate, experience sweet sherry notes with dried fruit and spice. Forest fruit flavours, creamy malt, nuts, dark chocolate and espresso complement these tones.
Lastly, enjoy a long and lingering dried fruit finish with a subtle sense of spice.
