Berry Bros & Rudd Single Cask Linkwood 2010 Christmas Edition is an ultra-rare Scotch whisky from wine merchant Berry Bros & Rudd’s Exceptional Cask collection of bottlings.

Founded in 1821, Linkwood is one of Speyside’s unsung heroes. The distillery sits on the outskirts of Elgin, a town whose name is thought to derive from the Celtic word “Aille”, signifying a beautiful place or valley.

The majority of its whisky production goes towards blending, notably in Johnnie Walker. However, there have been quite a number of independent bottlings in recent times.

This Berry Bros & Rudd Single Cask Linkwood 2010 Christmas Edition was initially matured in a hogshead then finished in a Pedro Ximenez cask. This added a rich and powerful aroma of dried fruit and baking spices – perfect for the festive season.

Cask: #301235, Cask type: Hogshead & PX

Age: 13 Years, No. of bottles: 267

Producers Tasting Notes

Initial spice and apricot jelly aromas with vanilla and nutmeg developing in time.

A balanced palate of orange liqueur, dark chocolate and marzipan all rolled in a layer of oak and cinnamon. This finishes alongside apricots and clove.

Lastly, syrupy sponge, studded with fruit and drizzled with honey, with warming baking spices in the distance.
