Bushmills Black Bush Sherry Cask Reserve Irish Whiskey combines an exceptionally high amount of malt married with a sweet, small-batch grain whiskey, and then matured in former Oloroso sherry and bourbon casks.
This unique recipe means Black Bush has rich, fruity notes and a deep intense character, balanced by an incredibly unique smoothness.
The Bushmills distillery opened its doors in 1608, making it the world’s oldest licensed whiskey distillery. It utilises water from the River Bush in Northern Ireland, as well as Irish barley, to create its unique pure malt whiskey. This particular style blends lighter grain whiskey with single malt whiskey.
Enjoy Bushmills Black Bush Sherry Cask Reserve Irish Whiskey neat, over ice, or as a fruity twist in classic whiskey-forward cocktails such as an Old Fashioned.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Plenty of elegant fruity notes. Think peaches, sweet wine gums, stewed apples and orange zest, but there’s also a delicate floral influence. Touches of honey and breakfast cereals too. Very well-balanced.
Taste: Hints of caramel apple custard and golden syrup, but with a touch of bitter oak, nutmeg, and cloves. Also a whisper of orange liqueur.
Finish: Lingering spices and fudge. Finally a touch of grainy pear.
