Casa de Vilacetinho Vinho Verde Avesso RAW is a delightfully complex and nervy natural white wine from Portugal.
Casa de Vilacetinho was one of the first producers of the Vinhos Verdes region. Today it continues to honour its legacy of producing high quality wines.
It is located in Alpendurada overlooking the River Douro and covers an estate of 30 hectares.
The varietal Avesso, emblematic of the Vinhos Verdes region, is the base of the wines at Casa de Vilacetinho. The grapes, which usually mature at a higher alcohol level, were picked earlier to preserve their acidity and protect the wine.
They were fermented in a concrete egg using indigenous yeasts and underwent malolactic fermentation. The wine was left unfiltered and unclarified before bottling, and no sulphites were added.
A wine with great complexity and structure showing great minerality and freshness along with a rounded, slightly weighty character. It has refreshing notes of citrus, especially lemon and lime, and green apple as well as some earthy tones. Bright finish.
