Born in West Penwith, Pocketful of Stones Caspyn Cornish Dry Gin takes its inspiration from the surrounding Atlantic Ocean.
It’s a classic dry gin, with loads of floral (hibiscus flowers) and citrus notes (lemon and orange peel, lemon grass, lemon verbena), a freshness (Japanese tea), length and long sherbety finish (gorse and orris).
It uses traditional distillation methods and a blend of carefully selected botanicals to deliver a crisp, distinctive flavour profile.
The distiller, Shaun describes it as, “I like to compare it to those early Cornish spring mornings. When it’s still a wee bit cold, the sea is that crystal clear blue but you know it’s still too cold to jump in to. You’re probably wrapped up, but you feel warm and it’s crisp, invigorating. You know those mornings.”
The Pocketful of Stones distillery was established in 2016. They create a range of unique Cornish gin handcrafted in the coastal area of Penzance. The concept was born in the cellar of a pub in London. Sat around a tiny copper still, two brothers tinkered with gin recipe after gin recipe. The dream was to get back to their roots, the outdoors and the ocean and produce something they were both passionate about.
