The family at Castello di Querceto make a very fine example of Chianti Classico indeed. It is 92% Sangiovese, with the remainder being made up of Colorino, Canaiolo, Mammolo, and Ciliegiolo.
It spends at least 12 months ageing in mostly old oak, and shows the black tea, smoke, cherry, and plum fruit that make Chianti Classico so great. It is a full-bodied and commanding wine that shows especially well if it paired with beef, game, or strong hard cheese like pecorino or manchego.
Will keep for 15 years after the vintage.
