This is the Sangiovese counterpart to Il Cignale – Querceto’s remarkable super-Tuscan – it comes from a single four hectare vineyard that is cultivated and harvested by hand to yield a pure expression of Tuscany’s most noble grape variety.
The wine is matured for at least 18 months in barrel, and a further 6 months in bottle before release. It shows some clove and smoke from ageing in barrel, and the black tea, cherry, strawberry, and plum characteristics from the fruit.
Suitable for keeping up to 25 years from the vintage.
