Chateau Gris, a building dating back to the 18th century, stands in the midst of a 3.5-hectare walled vineyard.
Since the 1920s, wines produced from grapes cultivated in this vineyard have been granted the designation of origin, Chateau Gris.
This vineyard, exclusively producing red wines from Pinot Noir, is classified as a monopole vineyard and holds the 1er Cru status. It is crafted from hand-harvested grapes, undergoes a three-week fermentation in temperature-controlled conical oak vats.
Following fermentation, the wine is aged in French oak barrels (25% new) for 12 to 15 months.
While this wine is ready for consumption upon release, it would further develop with cellaring for 5 to 7 years after release.
The wine exhibits a vibrant bouquet of red and dark fruits, complemented by subtle notes of clove, toast, and roasted coffee imparted by the barrels.
