Château Guiraud Sauternes is a beautifully smooth and rich sweet wine, characteristic of its appellation but also distinctively modern.
As a pioneering proponent of biodiversity since 1996 and the first Premier Grand Cru Classé to receive organic certification (2011), Château Guiraud has always been proud to declare its unfaltering commitment to the natural world.
In the heart of the Sauternes wine region, Château Guiraud’s style stands out. The terroir of sand, gravel and clay plays a key role in the unique nature of its wines, as do the high proportion of sauvignon blanc grapes (35%), the vineyard’s sustainable wine-growing methods and the expert work involved in harvesting and blending the vineyard’s grapes.
Combining a perfectly balanced sweetness with a surprisingly refreshing depth, Château Guiraud Sauternes revels in its distinctive character, producing a resolutely contemporary sweet wine.
Intense, ripe pineapple mingles with lemon and lime marmalade notes of botrytis whilst a seam of wet-stone minerality adds freshness. Very full-bodied. Overall, this is a very sophisticated Sauternes.
Enjoy this delightful sweet wine well chilled and paired with classic desserts like fruit tart or crème caramel. For a savoury pairing, the classic combination of Sauternes and foie gras is a deliciously indulgent treat.
