Clynelish 14 Year Old is a fine peated single malt Scotch whisky, made on the coast of Scotland.
Clynelish was built in 1968 and uses (more numerous) exact replicas of the stills at Brora (now closed). It is made with some peated barley but is produced in a much lighter style that the whiskies made at Brora. They show and attractive waxy characteristic and are a perfect introduction to peated whiskies for the enthusiast.
A classic case of a coastal Highland malt with a subtle Island character.
Enjoy Clynelish 14 Year Old neat to fully appreciate its complex flavour profile.
Tasting Notes
Appearance: Yellow gold
Nose: Light candle wax, with some sugar. A faint floral fragrance
Body: Firm, light to medium
Palate: Pleasant creamy mouthfeel; maritime generally
Finish: Some salt, dryish yet an attractive, even slightly bitter finish
