Domaine de la Marinière Vielles Vignes Chinon Rouge is a refined, fully organic Cabernet Franc from old vines in the heart of France’s Loire Valley.
Cabernet Franc is the signature red grape of the Loire region. Best known as the “grandparent” of Cabernet Sauvignon, it has all of the rich red and black fruit flavours we love in a Cabernet Sauvignon but a softer, less herbal quality.
This Cabernet Franc from the beautiful Chinon appellation spends 50% of its aging periodin concrete tanks and 50% in old oak barrels for six months. This gives the final wine a softness as well as maintaining fresh fruity flavours.
Enjoy Domaine de la Marinière Vielles Vignes Chinon Rouge with roast lamb, game meats or a fine mature cheese.
Tasting Notes
This wine is deep ruby red, displaying notes on the nose of black cherry, raspberry and violet. On the palate it shows a vibrant concentration and an earthy medium-weight body, then a fresh finish.
