Glenkinchie is one of the few extant Lowland distilleries in Scotland. They have one of the largest wash stills in the country – so large that when it was replaced in 2008 they had to remove the roof of the still house to complete the operation.
The undisputed champion of the light Lowland style.
Tasting notes:
Appearance: Bright gold
Nose: Aromatic, vanilla, cut flowers and beneath, a clean, toasty note. Increasingly sweet and creamy, with fresh citrus, lemon cheesecake
Body: Light, smooth
Palate: Crisp mid-palate then butter icing, lemon cheesecake and freesias
Finish: Herbal and drying, a little like potpourri
