Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu Red Wine Cask 2023 is a Japanese single malt whisky distilled at the Chichibu distillery in Saitama.
Ichiro Akuto matures the whisky in a combination of different red wine casks to give it incredible depth.
The maturation process uses red wine casks from four different continents. French casks lend a subtlety and freshness, New Zealand casks add a distinct fruity character, American casks contribute richness, and Japanese casks add soft spice and berry notes.
He masterfully blends these different casks to create this incredibly complex and rich whisky.

Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu Red Wine Cask 2023 features notes of candied orange, blueberry, and liquorice with a hint of honey and salted caramel. On the palate, rich cinnamon and clove mingle with a touch of menthol before finishing with rich milk chocolate.
