Isle of Jura 10 Year Old Single Malt Whisky is crafted in exceptionally tall stills, matured for 10 years in America White Oak ex-bourbon barrels and the fresh sea air. A further enhancement comes from maturation in the finest aged Oloroso Sherry casks from Jerez, Spain.
It’s a sweet, smooth whisky with flavours of rich dark chocolate and vanilla cream throughout, as well as hints of sea salt. It launched in 2018, forming a part of the distillery’s core range.
The Isle of Jura distillery is on the remote Scottish island of Jura. It has one pub, one shop and around 200 residents. The distillery was established in 1810 and reborn in 1963 to bring life back to the island and the community. Currently almost every family on the island has a member employed by the distillery. The island’s microclimate makes it a challenging place to distil whisky, but also a very rewarding one, imparting the unique Scottish terroir into the liquid.
