The distillery released this unpeated spirit to honour its Distillery of the Year award at the Scottish Whisky Awards 2022. The whisky matured first in ex–Four Roses bourbon casks, followed by a second maturation in Quercus humboldtii oak.
As the first legal distillery on the Hebridean Isle of Raasay, the distillery draws inspiration from its remarkable location. The magical Isle of Raasay sits off Scotland’s west coast in the Inner Hebrides, just a 25-minute ferry journey from the Isle of Skye.
With roots in centuries of illicit distilling, Raasay provides the ideal ingredients for an exceptional dram. The distillery distils, matures, and bottles every drop on the island, using water from the Raasay Distillery well.
At five years old, this release marks the oldest Isle of Raasay whisky to date and the distillery’s first major unpeated expression.
