Lanzerac Pionier Pinotage

Steeped in a history dating back to 1692, the Lanzerac Wine Estate, home to the first bottled Pinotage, is situated at the foot of the majestic Jonkershoek Valley of Stellenbosch.

The Pionier Pinotage is a 20 year old single vineyard block. Hand harvested and sorted followed by fermentation on the skins in stainless steel tanks for seven days. After malolactic fermentation the wines was racked, following three months of resting in the barrels it was racked again and matured in barrels for a fur-ther 18 months. The wine spent an overall of 21 months in barrels, only the best barrels were hand selected and blended.
