The new 18-Year-Old is the pivotal moment in Laphroaig’s coming of age. It has the same strong character but with new complexity as it comes of age from its time developing in ex-bourbon barrels. It has evolved into a dram ready for you to sit back and appreciate.
In the 18-year-old, the vanilla note apparent at 10 years becomes amplified, complimented by the sweetness of ripe fruits, ginger and honey. A hint of fresh mint leaves then appear against deeper, woody, toasted flavours.
Bottled at a high strength of 48% for a memorable experience to share with Friends.
Aroma – Sweet, vanilla and soft toffee with soft gooseberry, and Bramley apple. A touch of cinnamon and freshly baked apple tart then follows.
Taste – Oily, sweet and full bodied with an upfront fruitiness of oranges and nectarines followed by herbal notes of freshly cut mint and heathery honey with subtle ginger spice and peaty notes of iodine.
Finish – Sweet and rich with a long savoury and smoky finish.
