Maker’s Mark 46 is the recipe of Bill Samuels Junior, son of founders Bill and Margie, and the first new major expression since classic Maker’s was released in 1958.
Maker’s 46 is aged longer with special seared French oak staves. This intensifies the caramelised wood sugars, enhancing its flavours of bold vanilla, oak, and caramel.
They carry out this process over a few months at a cooler temperature, allowing the bourbon to mature more slowly. It is then bottled once the perfect balance is reached.
