Son of a wine merchant and fruit lover, Gilbert Miclo created the eponymous distillery in 1962 in Lapoutroie in Alsace, at the foot of the Vosges.
From the outset, the choice was made to favour the quality of its eaux-de-vie over the quantity, in order to offer spirits of real aromatic power.
Cherry brandy is the oldest of the fruit brandies, resulting from the fermentation and distillation of semi-wild black sweet cherries with small pits.
It is a classic digestive with a good kernel taste, also used in cooking and baking.
