Moët & Chandon Vintage 2016 evokes an awakening, the first rays of a day full of promise – a luminous morning aura. The 77th vintage in the history of the House, it is an initiation into Moët & Chandon’s journey of light.
2016 was a turbulent year for Champagne as a region, however thanks to masterful winemaking a radiant Champagne was born, with a rounded and supple palate. It aged for six years in the cellar, then a further six months after disgorging. The dosage is 5g/litre.
Generous, ample and supple in structure, the palate is reminiscent of the cotton flower. Floral, aniseed and mentholated nuances bring lightness and freshness. The finish lingers on a delicate bitterness evoking fresh almonds.
Each Grand Vintage is unique, expressing Moët & Chandon’s Cellar Master’s personal interpretation of the year. This vintage, 34% Pinot Noir, 48% Chardonnay, and 18% Meunier.

Producer’s Tasting Notes
Nose: A tender and vegetal bouquet.
Palate: Initial notes of breadcrumbs, fresh brioche and almond paste give way to elderflower and jasmine, then to fruit such as white peach and watermelon.
Finish: Notes of garrigue at dawn complete the ensemble.
