Nautilus Sauvignon Blanc is a delightfully fresh yet complex New Zealand white from the region’s signature grape varietal.
Grapes were machine-harvested at night then fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel to give fresh aromas. The wine remained on lees for five months providing creaminess and integrated flavours.
Nautilus began producing their wines in 1985, when only 80 wineries existed in New Zealand compared to today’s 700. The Nautilus philosophy is to craft wines that are textural, complex and food friendly, respecting and showcasing the unique Marlborough terroir.
To do this, they take grapes from a handful of specially selected vineyard sites around Marlborough, each of which contribute different flavours and aromas to the wine.
The resulting blend gives complexity and depth to the Nautilus wines.
Enjoy Nautilus Sauvignon Blanc with a wide range of seafood and vegetarian dishes. The flavour intensity can stand up to some chilli and the herb notes in the wine compliment Thai ingredients such as basil or lemongrass.
The 2022 Nautilus Sauvignon Blanc displays intense lifted aromas of passionfruit, lemongrass and ripe grapefruit.
The palate introduces delightful lime zest flavours with mouth-watering intensity, then finishing with a strong textural component.
