Based in the Marlborough Region, Pa Road Sauvignon Blanc is made by the te Pa winery which has a history stemming back almost 800 years. Set up by the MacDonald family whose Maori lineage goes back to 1350, the te Pa estate spreads over 400Ha of vineyards in Marlborough’s Wairau and Awatere regions.
The naturally low vigour, low yielding Redwood Hills vineyard in the Awatere Valley produces wines with strong textural and mineral elements. This cooler site results in wines that exhibit concentration, fresh acidity, and great length. The fruit was machine harvested and destemmed in the field. The individual blocks were fermented separately in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. The Pa Road Sauvignon Blanc was then blended from a selection of nine batches split across two complementary vineyard sites.
Aromas of grapefruit and mandarin, with guava, red currant, and floral notes. The palate displays nectarine, citrus, and passionfruit flavours with a pithy texture and a clean crisp finish.
