Owners Wendy and Barry Stimpson originate from England and South Africa respectively. Over numerous visits to Margaret River they fell in love with the region’s pristine natural environment and its world class wines.

They made Margaret River their home in 2005, and in 2011 they found the picturesque property, with established vineyards and natural bushland areas, that now comprises Passel Estate.

The maritime influence on premium viticulture within the region is undeniable; grapes benefit from ample sunlight hours during ripening, whilst the cooling sea breezes moderate temperature.

This Shiraz was matured in a combination of French Oak barriques and puncheons, 30% of which were new, and underwent bâttonage every 5-6 weeks.

After 10 months in oak, the wine was lightly fined prior to filtration and bottling.

Producer’s Tasting Notes

Aromas of poached plums, black pepper and meat spice introduce a broad and voluptuous palate, dripping in black fruits and coating red tannin.

Flavours of rhubarb, all-spice and black berries are persistent through to the finish, savoury and steeped in graphite.
