The Eden Valley is above the Barossa Valley in South Australia. The slightly cooler climate and slightly higher difference between day time and night time temperatures is suitable for growing some incredibly fine Riesling grapes. Pewsey Vale is managed by Yalumba who release this wine when it is still young. One of the marvellous things about Riesling is the way in which it ages, and we are comfortable saying this wine will keep well for a decade after the vintage. A little star of a dry refreshing lime-scented beauty of a wine.
Pale straw with green hues. Intense aromas reminiscent of fine dried herbs, white flowers, lemon and lime. Shows great length and depth on the palate with grapefruit and lime flavours, fresh rosemary and a hint of tropical fruit. The wine finishes with a soft natural acidity which balances the flavour intensity and a minerality that is delicious now or will reward medium to long-term cellaring.
