Handcrafted in the Surrey Hills, Sipello Bittersweet Aperitif marries a gooseberry-led blend of British ingredients such as rhubarb and the little known chuckleberry with sustainably sourced botanicals from around the world.
Led by sandalwood, gentian and wormwood, their botanicals are hand-picked, wild harvested and where certifiable, organic. Many ingredients are macerated before blending the fruity-bitter liquid to give it depth and complexity. Some of the fruit is macerated fresh, but some is picked and frozen before being pressed to keep the sugars locked in, in a similar process to making ice wine. It then mellows for several days before bottling.
It is a fruit-forward aperitif with a long bitter finish, and uses no artificial colours or flavours.
Sipello transcends occasion with its versatility, unique flavour and playfulness. It’s a liquid love letter to the eccentric in all of us. It features on menus at some of the UK’s top cocktail bars. Bartenders have happily mixed Sipello with everything from gin, prosecco, sea salt, and Champagne to mezcals, fruit liqueurs, IPA and Elderflower Pressé for some stunning creations.
