Soho Wines make this Pinot Noir from Marlborough fruit by enlisting local legend Dave Clouston to make the wine. The fruit is grown on Soho’s Southern Valleys vineyard on a fully organic plot. This site benefits from a cooler micro-climate than some parts of Marlborough and is able to produce grapes with a wonderful balance of ripe tannin, and crunchy fruit. The wine is given a light-touched ageing on French oak. The result is a wine that is reminiscent of good Vosne-Romanee for a combination of grace and power. It is a wine with a decade’s cellaring potential and admirably well priced for a wine of this aromatic intensity.
Pair this Pinot with duck and game dishes.
