Taittinger Comtes de Champagne is a Blanc de Blancs champagne with an incredibly rich palate. This wine is the finest that Taittinger make, first produced in 1952. It is 100% Chardonnay and made from grapes picked in five Grand Cru sites.

It is kept for eight to ten years on the lees before disgorgement and made only in exceptionally good vintages.

A small proportion of the Chardonnay (usually about 5%) is aged in oak barrels during the winemaking.

It shows citrus notes of lime, lemon, and tangerine zest, along with toast and fresh brioche.

Presented in 18th century antique style bottles, this hand-crafted champagne aged eighteen metres underground in the UNESCO status Saint-Nicaise cellars in Reims for a minimum of eight years before release.

The fruit characteristics on the palate are riper and extend to a touch of fresh peach, nectarine and apricot. Brioche flavours are pleasant on the palate and yield the merest hint of vanilla on a finish of impressive length. The wine boasts a refined mousse, tangy acids, and then a long, rich finish. A wine of great power.

Enjoy Taittinger Comtes de Champagne as an aperitif for a special occasion, or pair with fresh seafood like oysters.
