Tedeschi Capitel Fontana Recioto della Valpolicella DOCG Classico from the Veneto in Italy has sweet fruit aromas with an elegant fruity palate combined with oaky vanilla notes that linger.
It matures for two years in barrels made from Slavonian oak, imparting richly spicy notes.
This wine is made from select grapes of vines belonging to the Tedeschi winery, in the hillside area of Valpolicella Classico. Truly a family owned and run company, spanning almost 4 centuries of history in Valpolicella, the Tedeschi Family can trace their involvement in wine back to the 1630s. They produce renowned classic Veronese wine.
Recioto is one such historic Valpolicella wine. The grape creates wines with intensely concentrated flavours with powerful potential for aging and development.
The vineyard is one hectare in size, facing East.
Combine Tedeschi Capitel Fontana Recioto della Valpolicella DOCG Classico with strong cheeses, foie gras, dry pastries, strawberry and other berries. Serve at: 15-16° C.
Colour: strong ruby red with notes of garnet.
Bouquet: Notes of sweet fruit: raspberries, wild blackberries and blueberries combined with notes of oak.
Flavour: elegant and strong structure, superbly balanced and sustained by a good acidity. The aftertaste confirms the notes in the bouquet. This wine has a long-lasting and persistent flavour.
