The Dalmore 18-Year-Old is a delightfully complex limited-release Scotch which showcases the distillery’s renowned sherry-focused house style.
This annual limited edition starts its maturation journey in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, which impart a base of soft vanilla and honey. It then undergoes further enhancement through longer finishing in 30-year-old hand-selected Matusalem Oloroso Sherry casks. These are exclusive to The Dalmore, sourced from the Gonzalez Byass bodega in Spain.
Placing these casks near the cold, damp floor and walls of the dunnage warehouses at The Dalmore Distillery allows this whisky to reach its full potential. This results in an exceptionally unique single malt with a rich, deep chocolate character.
Dalmore was founded in 1839 by Alexander Matheson, a merchant adventurer determined to create an exceptional single malt whisky. In 1867, descendants of Clan Mackenzie then took control of the distillery. One of their first changes was to adorn every bottle of The Dalmore with the stag – a guarantee of peerless quality.
Enjoy The Dalmore 18-Year-Old neat or on the rocks. It also shines with a splash of water to fully unlock its complex flavour profile.
Producer’s Tasting Notes
Aroma: Vanilla, dark chocolate, English marmalade, and sweet liquorice.
Palate: Chocolate raisins, citrus fruits, rich coffee, nutmeg, and spice.
Finish: Stewed fruits and then toffee.
