Each batch maintains a consistent flavour profile, though with slight natural variations due to the choice of individual casks and varying ‘marrying’ periods.
The Hearach Oloroso Cask Matured single malt is the second whisky release from the island distillery on the Isle of Harris.
In the far south-western corner of Spain lies the historic region of Andalusia. Here, amid the hot and dusty hills, the sherry-makers of José y Miguel MartÃn craft and maintain casks with great skill and care, using traditional methods, before filling them at their wineries in Jerez.
The distillery team first visited this part of the world in 2015, beginning their partnership with this highly esteemed family business, and they have proudly sourced their specially selected Oloroso casks from them ever since.
osé y Miguel MartÃn Oloroso sherry is a dry, dark, nutty fortified wine, and its influence on the wood imparts a bold, distinctive richness to their spirit as the casks arrive in Harris and begin maturing their island whisky far from their original home.
