In 2008, Willett Pot Still Reserve Bourbon made its debut in the signature pot still shaped bottle fashioned using the original still blueprints.
This Small Batch Bourbon is a tribute to Thompson Willet, the visionary founder of Willet Distillery in Bardstown. Today, the Willet distillery remains on its original site, producing and aging whiskey in a range of delightful styles, and run by the fifth generation of whiskeymakers.
Made using 65% corn, 20% wheat and 15% barley, this whiskey is a true reflection of American terroir. After aging for a minimum of eight years in virgin charred oak barrels, the whiskey is ready to savour. It is bottled at a smooth 47% ABV and 94 proof. The opulent bottle mirrors the still in which the whiskey is distilled, and we can’t decide whether its glamorous feel was designed to match the whiskey or vice versa.
Enjoy Willett Pot Still Reserve Bourbon neat or on ice. It also shines in a premium Old Fashioned to really let its complex flavour profile shine.
Nose is “vanilla lemon cake.” The palate is a balance of caramel, vanilla, spices and citrus, as well as a rich buttery corn quality. The finish is rich in toffee with some touches of floral oak.
