This Pinot Gris is racy and aromatic, particularly compared to the much leaner style found in Italy, known as Pinot Grigio, this wine has lots of elegance, depth and character.
The gravelly/sandy valley floor in Turckheim was hot and dry in 2018, putting a lot of pressure on the vines. Berries were small in 2018 and very dark in colour (sun intensity!), influencing the colour and style of the wine. This was the first vineyard harvested in 2018, and the first one to finish fermentation, completely dry.
Intense yellow colour. The nose is powerful and displays concentrated spicy aromas. The palate has lower acidity, nice tannins, very dry, intense finish. It is clearly a wine that will need food, spicy dishes, sweet and sour, smoked food
