Bodegas Martínez Lacuesta Rioja Blanco Barrel Fermented is a juicy and energetic white Tempranillo made at a historic Spanish winery.

Félix Martínez Lacuesta founded Bodegas Martínez Lacuesta in 1895 in Haro. He was a winemaker, a lawyer, a politician, a marketing man, and the first president of the National Association of Wine-growers and Wine-producers, as well as the Rioja Wine Union. In addition he represented bodega owners in the setting-up of the Regulatory Body of the Rioja D.O.

This white Rioja is produced using the Viura grape variety. It is matured on its lees for a period of three months using new casks; a mix of American oak, French oak and acacia wood.

Each of these barrels gives it its own particular aromas and fragrances. Tasting it is a blast of freshness along with nuances of great elegance. Overall, it’s sweet and smooth.

Enjoy Bodegas Martínez Lacuesta Rioja Blanco with roast pork, fried fish or a zingy rice salad.

Producer’s Tasting Notes

Pale yellow in colour with hints of green.

Subtle toasted oak and prominent citrus aromas supported by apple, banana and light spices. Nectarine, mandarin and lemon aromas.

On the palate, it has a crisp and fresh attack as well as a slight creaminess from the lees aging, with a hint of American oak and a persistent fruity finish.
