Pierre de Segonzac XO Sélection des Anges 1er Cru is a luxuriously fruity Cognac. It hails from one of the finest houses producing today.

From 1702 onwards, Jacques Ferrand started to distil and age the products of his vineyards at the Pierre de Segonzac estate.

The small 7 hectare estate is based entirely within the Grande Champagne sub-region of Cognac. Today, the 11th and 12th generations of the family carry on the tradition of producing only top quality Cognac from the heart of Grande Champagne.

Distillation occurs on site using two Charentais copper stills of 18 and 25 hectolitres. One of the last of these is hand-hammered, which allows for the production of highly aromatic eaux-de-vie. The proper heating is carried out manually as in the past in order to make each distillation unique.

Enjoy Pierre de Segonzac XO Sélection des Anges 1er Cru in a tulip-shaped glass to allow the aromas to breathe.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Very beautiful mahogany dress.

Nose: Round and persistent, this cognac, which bears the name of the part that evaporates each year from the barrels, manages to combine woodiness and the first notes of rancio typical of old Grande Champagne cognacs.

Palate: Very intense first amount, then aromas of figs, apricot, and jasmine.

Finish: Nuts and quince, toasted bread, then chocolate notes in the finish. Very long in the mouth.
