Bodega Katxiña Txakoli 2022 is a fun, slightly spritzy Hondarribi Zuri from the Txakoli region near San Sebastian, Spain. It is fresh, fruity and vibrant.
Bodega Katxiña is a family winery located near San Sebastian which produces the fresh and vibrant white wine Txakoli Katxiña.
Their south-facing winery sits at the centre of eight hectares of vineyards. These lie on a hillside leading down to the Oria river. The sea breeze acts as a perfect cooling agent for the ripening grapes.
This wine uses the zesty local Hondarribi Zuri grape varietal. Winemakers harvest the grapes at optimum ripeness in October and press them very gently to protect their delicate fruit characters. It then sits on its lees for 3-4 months. During the wine making process the fermentation is stopped, resulting in the slight characteristic fizz in the wine.
It displays intense green and yellow fruits with bright aromatics and a revitalising acid profile on the finish. The intensity is well-distributed in the mouth and round on the palate, where it then leaves a pleasant and lasting taste.
Enjoy Bodega Katxiña Txakoli 2022 as an aperitif or pair it with fish and shellfish dishes. It shines when drunk young.
