Black Tears Dry Spiced Rum is the world’s only spiced rum from Cuba, the spiritual home of rum and creator of the mojito and daiquiri.
Black Tears is all about emotions and the name is inspired by the Cuban song Lagrimas Negras. It tells the story of a young woman who sobbed into a vat of rum, filling it with her sorrow. Thanks to that legend, this bottle is ultimately packed with emotions to celebrate the Cuba of today.
For the first time, the island’s favourite spice, the bittersweet Ají Dulce pepper, transforms classically sensual Cuban rum, along with Cuban cacao and coffee. It’s a warm, gentle honeyed rum perfect for either sipping or mixing.
Producer’s Tasting Notes
Colour: Black Tears Dry Spiced Rum is bright and clear, smouldering with cool golden intensity.
Nose: you are met with an aroma of oak, cooked fruits, honey and spices. These later subtly give way to hints of coffee and cocoa.
Palate: It has a gentle and mysterious sweetness of cocoa accompanying the punch of coffee on the finish, along with the lingering, peppery trace of spice. Finally, the result is a very elegant and well-balanced spiced rum. To sip, there’s a sweetness of chocolate, nougat and cream. It lates gives way to bold tones of Ají Dulce spice on the palate.
