Veuve Goudoulin Bas Armagnac 1985 is a vintage Armagnac, produced by Armagnac Veuve Goudoulin.

Officially known as Armagnac J. Goudoulin, they are producers of Bas Armagnac located in Courrensan, in the Gers region of South-West France.

The house was founded in 1935 by Jeanne Ménal Goudoulin. Through her marriage, Jeanne acquired the estate and dedicated herself to creating high-quality Armagnac, establishing a strong reputation for excellence over the decades.

Veuve Goudoulin specialises in traditional Armagnac production, using continuous distillation of carefully chosen white wines from the region. Oak casks age the spirits, giving the Armagnac its deep amber hue and intricate flavour profile. This meticulous ageing process brings out notes of vanilla, caramel, and spices, creating a smooth and well-balanced character.

The range features expressions such as VSOP (Very Superior Old Pale), XO (Extra Old), and a selection of vintage Armagnacs.

Tasting Notes of Veuve Goudoulin Bas Armagnac 1985:

This Bas Armagnac is a vibrant amber in colour.

The nose is rich and complex, offering notes of almond, chocolate, vanilla, and caramel, with a hint of apricot tart for those with a sweeter palate.

The taste is round and full-bodied, accompanied by subtle hints of leather. The flavour of cooked prunes rounds off the warm finish.
