Alvaro Domecq La Jaca Manzanilla Sanlugar de Barrameda is a light, fresh and saline sherry perfect for pairing with your favourite tapas dishes.
Made from 100% Palomino grapes, the signature varietal of sherry, this wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks. Then, like all manzanilla sherries, it aged biologically in the solera system under a layer of yeast known as flor. This creates its distinctive aromas of yeast, bread dough and almonds. It was then fortified to 15% and cellared for a further four years.
Enjoy La Jaca Manzanilla with prawns, anchovies in vinegar, mojama, seafood rice, salmorejo or fried fish.
The producer, Bodegas Alvaro Domecq, has been producing exceptional sherries in Jerez since 1850. Their current owners maintain a commitment to quality and the Jerez tradition, making their wines – from saline Manzanilla to the lusciously sweet Pedro Ximénez – a sought-after tipple in markets all over the world.
Producer’s Tasting Notes
Colour: Bright, very pale yellow colour, with greenish reflections.
Nose: Its aroma of olive notes is soft and fragrant, with a sharp nose, light notes of almond and hints of marine odours.
Palate: Salty, tangy and yeasty with lemony notes and a pleasing robustness.
Finish: Fairly long, dry and maritime finish.
