Avalon Zinfandel is a delightfully spicy and rich expression of a classic California grape.
Established in 2001 in bucolic western Sonoma County, Avalon offers approachable, delicious wines of unmatched quality. Avalon wines are beautifully balanced and effortlessly enjoyable due to thoughtful vineyard selection from California’s top winegrowing regions combined with intuitive winemaking methods.
Crafted from Zinfandel fruit sourced throughout Northern and Central California, the grapes were picked during the cool night and early morning hours. Winemakers then delivered them immediately to the winery for de-stemming and gently pressing into fermentation tanks. After seven to nine days of fermentation, Avalon gently racked the wine into a combination of European and American oak for malolactic fermentation and ageing.
Pair Avalon Zinfandel with hearty meat dishes like beef and lamb. Alternatively, enjoy with a chocolate dessert for an indulgent end to a meal. It’s big and fruity, and packs an impressive punch!
This wine is an enticing deep red and purple shade. Dark berry and spicy notes entice the nose. Then, ripe plum, blackberry and a touch of blueberry and cherry flavours entertain the taste buds. Juicy and structured with energetic tannins, this wine displays perfect balance and a long, velvety finish.
