Avignonesi Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is a rich and luscious 100% Sangiovese with a balanced and flavoursome red fruit palate.
Avignonese is produced at Le Capezzine winery, an historic estate where winemaking mastery, love for nature, the community of Montepulciano, and consumers meet. It was founded in 1974 and is currently owned by Virginie Saverys.
Made from 100% Sangiovese, winemakers conducted the harvest in the second half of September, then macerated the wine for 20-25 days at controlled temperature. Selected yeasts from the vineyard’s pied de cuve carried out alcoholic fermentation.
The wine then aged for at least 18 months in Slavonian oak barrels, oak barriques and 500-litre tonneaux. Following this, it developed in the bottle for six months to offer aromas of smoke and
In the glass it shows intense garnet red reflections. On the nose aromas of small red fruits, strawberries and currants. Then pomegranate and the unmistakable violet scent of good Sangiovese. In the background a touch of vanilla, sweet spices and liquorice. The palate shows excellent balanced with hints of ripe cherries and plums, supported by precise and elegant tannins. The body is warm and enveloping with a long and persistent finish.
