Bodegas Peique Godello is a bright and refreshing Spanish white wine perfumed with stone fruits and lime zest.
The Peique wine-producing family story began in Valtuille de Abajo, a village of less than 200 people, located in the Bierzo area of León. They currently have 40 hectares of vineyards, and produce wines from a tradition that has been passed down through three generations. The wines are a faithful and honest reflection of the Bierzo landscape.
The Godello grapes in this wine grow at high altitudes of of 450 to 580 metres, from vines with an average age of 15 years.
When the hand harvested grapes reach the winery, they are macerated for 6 to 7 hours at 10 ºC. Fermentation takes place over 10 days in stainless steel tanks. The resulting wine rests for a further 5 months on its fine lees.
Enjoy Bodegas Peique Godello with rice dishes, oily fish, and soft cheeses. However, it also shines as an aperitif.
Straw yellow in colour with greenish highlights and intense citrus, green apple and tropical fruit aromas.
This wine is fruit-forward, fresh and lively with superb minerality and depth. Buttery, crisp and pleasing on the palate, with a delicate finish. Fresh and genuine.
