The queen of black grapes, Nebbiolo, is the protagonist of Casali del Barone, a range of wines that express the tradition and history of the Piedmont region, between Langhe and Monferrato.
Based in the heart of the Piedmont DOCG zone, this Nebbiolo is the epicentre at which all the other wines of the Casali del Barone co-operative revolve.
This focused and pure expression of Nebbiolo shows layers of red fruit such as sour & black cherries alongside delicate hints of violets and cedar. For a wine so young, it has already started to develop some tertiary spice and woody earthiness which just adds yet another dimension to this fabulously good value wine.
Enjoy this full wine with hearty, rich dishes such as ragu and game or pair it with a classic mature or blue cheese.
