Château de Pez Saint-Estèphe is a bold and structured wine with remarkable balance, depth, and ageing potential. One of the oldest estates in the Médoc, Château de Pez crafts wines that showcase the power and elegance of this prestigious appellation.

The 2018 vintage benefited from a warm summer and excellent ripening conditions, delivering concentrated fruit and finely tuned tannins. A blend of predominantly Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it offers complexity and harmony. Careful vinification and ageing in French oak barrels, 40% new, add layers of depth and refinement.

The nose reveals blackcurrant, ripe plum, and blackberry, intertwined with cedar, tobacco, and a touch of graphite. Subtle notes of liquorice and dark chocolate enhance the aromatic complexity. On the palate, rich black fruit mingles with earthy undertones, spice, and well-integrated oak. The tannins are firm yet polished, supporting a long and structured finish.

This vintage embodies Saint-Estèphe’s signature power while maintaining remarkable freshness and precision. The refined acidity ensures longevity, making it a superb candidate for cellaring over 10 to 15 years. Over time, its robust structure will soften, revealing further elegance and nuance.

Château de Pez Saint-Estèphe 2018 pairs beautifully with roast lamb, grilled ribeye, or duck confit, complementing the wine’s depth and intensity. Decanting for at least an hour enhances its expression, allowing the aromas to fully evolve.
