Chateau Lauriga Muscat de Rivesaltes is a classic French fortified wine from the Mediterranean area of Roussillon, made by one of the region’s leading producers.
The Château Lauriga is located in the Aspres terroir, in Thuir, near Perpignan, and was acquired by Jean-Claude Mas. Originally built by t0he Clar family, this old Catalan farmhouse has an old cellar now equipped with all the modern winemaking and aging techniques.
Rivesaltes is an area close to the Mediterranean known for its sweet wines made from various varieties of Muscat. In this case, Lauriga only use 100% of the noble sweet grape, Muscat Blanc a Petit Grains.
The harvest is destemmed and put directly into the pneumatic press under a regulated atmosphere saturated with carbon dioxide. Producers then pressed the fresh harvest with great care. Fermentation takes place with strict temperature control. The fortification then focuses on keeping the desired level of sweetness in the must.
Enjoy Chateau Lauriga Muscat de Rivesaltes as a great aperitif, with foie gras, or with a cake or a cream based dessert.

Colour: bright pale-yellow.
Nose: floral and powerful with notes of candied white fruit.
Palate: A nice freshness and a good complexity of ripe fruit with notes of sweet spices.
