Only 3000 bottles of this brandy were ever produced.
It was made from over 100 different spirits made over the past century. This affords the drinker a kind of cross-section of all the changes that have taken places in the making of Courvoisier cognac – the implementation of gas heating in the 1970s, and the move from Limousin to Troncais & Jupilles wood in the 80s.
The bottle is made by Baccarat and is meant to represent one of the ten signet rings Napoleon made to give to ten of his closest friends and generals.
The L’Essence de Courvoisier decanter is suspended in an elegant teardrop-shaped frame, complete with a finely crafted crystal stopper.
Exquisite aromas of sandalwood and cigar leaves, followed by toffee, marzipan and fresh honey, finishing with gentle summer blossom.
