Jacques and Robert Delamain created Pale & Dry XO in 1920, naming it for its light colour and delicate nature. Made exclusively from eaux-de-vie from Grand Champagne, this cognac has delightfully fragrant flavours of citrus, apricot and vanilla.
This name reflects their unique approach within the XO category: producing a cognac without added sugar or colouring, aged in old oak barrels, resulting in a clearer spirit with a subtle wood flavour. This is a more intense Cognac than the standard bottling, with heightened flavours and a slightly higher ABV. A century later, Delamain Pale & Dry XO still upholds this original elegance, allowing the eaux-de-vie to develop majestically over time.
The House of Delamain has been producing fine cognac for over 200 years on their beautiful Grand Champagne estate. Since its establishment, it has been continually family run. Unique amongst cognac houses, they produce only XO and above cognacs, championing a tradition of excellence.
Producer’s Tasting Notes
Aromas: Particularly delicate, notes of vanilla and apricot, enveloped by fresh notes of passion fruit, orange zest and almond.
Bouquet: Vanilla which blends into apricot aromas, highlighted by nuances of spices and ginger.
Style: Intense and persistent, a perfectly balanced final touch of this rare cognac.
