Domaine Lebrun Pouilly-Fumé is a classic French Sauvignon Blanc with a stony, mineral finish.

Domaine Lebrun is a family estate that was established in 1861, and developed by Fernand and Eugénie Lebrun.

Laurent Lebrun, 6th generation winemaker, now runs it. He spent his formative years training in Australia and then returned to France to take up the position of General Manager and Head Winemaker at Château Olivier, Grand Cru Classé in Bordeaux. He has recently taken over the running of his family estate in Pouilly-Fumé.

It covers around 9 hectares (22 acres) in the centre of the Pouilly-Fumé appellation, stretching over the slopes of Saint-Andelain on a typical terroir of flinty clay.

The average age of the vines is 25 years.

Producers sort the crop in the cellar. They then transport it by conveyor belt to the press. The grapes are pressed slowly with separation of the juices, followed by ageing on the fine lees for 5 months in a combination of stainless steel vats and large oak vessels.

Enjoy Domaine Lebrun Pouilly-Fumé with goat’s cheese and smoked salmon.

Producer’s Tasting Notes

Typical of the flinty clay terroirs the wines are long with good density. Expressive, with citrusy and smokiness when they are young, they become rounder and more complex with ageing.
