The Graham’s 1997 Single Harvest Colheita is made from a small selection of outstanding wines from Quintas dos Malvedos & das Lages in the Cima Corgo, considered to be the region for the highest quality grapes in the Douro.

Founded in 1820 by brothers William and John Graham, Graham’s quicky became known as a producer of exceptional ports. It remains one of the only British port companies independently owned by a single family.

The 1997 vintage was an unusual one. An incredibly cold winter brought snow to the Douro Valley, followed by unseasonably warm and dry weather in February and March. The high temperatures preceding the harvest allowed for an excellent final ripening period, resulting in a year of low yields but incredible concentration and balance.

Enjoy Graham’s 1997 Single Harvest Colheita as a fabulous accompaniment to creamy or nutty desserts, such as crème brûlée or almond tart. It is also delightful when enjoyed on its own after a meal. Serving the wine chilled is recommended.

Producer Tasting Notes

Amber brown Tawny colour, amazingly intense and deep. Rose petal, oriental spice and toasted honey, overlaid by sweet balsamic & dried fig aromatics. Full bodied, still with fresh blue & black berry flavours. Delicate toasted coffee finish. Beautifully fresh, very intense & lingering flavours. Shows superb structure, balance and finesse.
