Jordan Estate ‘Nine Yards’ Chardonnay is a deliciously rich yet energetic South African Chardonnay, made in a lovely reserve style.
We are regularly impressed with the work of Cathy and Gary Jordan at their estate in Stellenbosch. This wine is one of the reasons why. It combines the ripeness of the great New World Chardonnays with the finesse of some of the finest expressions from Burgundy (Chablis Grand Cru).
The wine is made by barrel-fermentation in 92% new Burgundy pieces and aged on fine lees for 13 months. Regular barrel-rolling accentuates the rich, bready character.
The result is rich, full-bodied, lengthy and intense. Delicious. A style characterised by refreshing linear acidity and mouthfilling fruit textures. It boasts classic Nine Yards flavours with lime citrus and fragrant oak spice.
