Juliénas Chaintré Vignerons Associés, Chénas Tradition du Bois de la Salle

Respectively founded in 1923 and 1960 Cave de Chaintre et Cave des Producteurs de Juliénas merged in 2013 to form a union between Burgundy and Beaujolais.

The people who make up les Vignerons Associés work tirelessly to produce consumer friendly wines with an emphasis on respect for the terroir, innovation and production of a large selection of outstanding wines.

Located in the small villages of Chénas et La Chapelle de Guinchay, the Chénas vines are planted in sandy, clay soils.

Harvesting is carried out by hand and the grapes are left in tank for 10 days to macerate in order to optimise the colour and aroma of the wine.

Fermentation is heat regulated at temperatures of 27/28 degrees centigrade and maturation follows until February when the wine is bottled.

Producer’s Tasting Notes

This Chénas is firm and tannic with spicy black fruit and spicy notes and a light, floral undertone. It would be perfect served with red meat or rabbit. It also works well with cheese.
